What a beautiful piece! It's one piece I'd hang onto forever and be ok with.
This is old! Old with a rusty seal type piece that slides left to right to where you can open it up and put whatever you'd like in it. From what I know it's an old war canteen used by the Germans during war. The man I bought this from is also the one who had all the old crocks; I believe every single word he told me!

I displayed wildflowers I picked from the side of the road in it, you can use it for so many things! Utensil holder? Shelf sitter with the othet ww1 and ww2 collectibles? Vase like I used it for? Really just abt anything! The coloring is so pretty, it will flow in all seasons and in any home decor style.
