CentOS 5.x 에서 잘 사용하던 whois 를 상위 OS 버전에서는 사용할 수 없을 때
해결할 수 있는 작은 tip 입니다.
이럴 때는 jwhois 패키지를 설치하면 간단히 문제를 해결 할 수 있는데요.
패키지 검색으로도 jwhois 를 설치할 수 없을 때는 EPEL 를 먼저 설치해보세요.

whois 명령은 도메인 주소와 네트워크 블록 단위 IP 주소를 검색할 때 매우 유용합니다.
1. 잘 사용하던 whois 명령은 어디로;
# whois
-bash: whois: command not found
2. jwhois 패키지를 설치합니다.
# yum install jwhois

3. 설치 후 whois 명령이 잘 되네요.

-r, –rwhois force an rwhois query to be made
–rwhois-display=DISPLAY sets the display option in rwhois queries
–rwhois-limit=LIMIT sets the maximum number of matches to return
